The very scenic front yard of Ad and Marilyn |
| Our task for the day...well just part of it... |
| Star couple of the day! Awesome teamwork! |
| Group shot of all the volunteers on the day |
Following on from Tiff's post, we went to help out an aged couple named Ad and Marilyn in the Taggerty township near Marysville. We were blessed by the weather so that we could make the most of the day to help out the couple. As you can see from the group photo, it was quite a turnout, probably the largest ever! There were a large group of Malaysian overseas students from Melbourne Uni there on the day which was great to see - and a rare sight too may I add =P (Apparently, there's now on-campus presence for Habitat at the major tertiary institutions!)
One of the things that struck me as I looked around and seeing 50 odd people all working away to help this couple, I really sensed God's presence in the midst of all this! Unity, love, mercy and grace all combined! A truely humbling experience. Sometimes in the midst of tragic events (that unfortunately came from the fall of humanity described in Gen 3) we see a glimpse of hope also. When we simply partner with God together as one unit with one common purpose, anything seems possible! It gives hope that brings light to the end of the tunnel that tells us that it's worth persevering, it's worth holding on for a brighter future is just around the corner!
