Kon's Devotion

Scripture:

Psalm 127:1
says, "Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain."

Observation:

The Psalmist, probably Solomon, is describing how human effort and self-reliance is never enough without GOD at the centre of it all.

Application:

I go through extended periods, where i look to myself and draw on my own human strength to meet a challenge in my life. Sometimes, this leads me to try to control everything, especially at work. Often i end up feeling stressed and completly drained. Sometimes, i have family challenges that I try to find a solution to on my own, without seeking the guidance of GOD. This self-reliance often leads me to the wrong solution and feelings of frustration and helplessness.

Prayer:

Lord, I pray that i will turn to you first for guidance on my life journey. I will not build anything in my life unless you are at the centre of it. I pray that i can seek your help to find solutions to challenges in my life. I will make every effort to seek your blessings for anything i try to create in my life. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
