Scripture: Psalm 16 : 5 - 6

⁵ You, Lord are all I have,

And you give me all I need;

my future is in your hands.

⁶ How wonderful are your gifts to me;

How good they are!

Observation:

This scripture is part of a prayer of confidence. The confidence in God that He is all we have. The confidence in God that He gives us all we need. We need not worry or despair for He is in control of our lives and He has the best plan laid out for us. We are truly blessed.

Application:

As I embark on another year, I am reminded and thankful that I have God in my life. And as I journey through this year, He will give me all I need. The highs and the lows – He is there for me and He will guide me every step of the way. Every moment in life is a gift. Let me not take it for granted, moan or let it get me down. But be confident of God’s plan for me and be happy and thankful. As I continue to seek Him, I will grow in faith and knowledge of His plan for me.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank you for being in my life and your continued blessings upon me. I know that you are always there for me and yet when life gets the better of me, I have a tendency to forget that you are in control of my life and you are the provider of all I need. Your timing is perfect. I pray Lord that you will help me remember that you are the Lord of my life and I am blessed. Help me Lord to seek you always as you are with me and will guide me. I pray Lord for a year of possibilities and renewed confidence in your plan for my life this year and in it all, your name will be glorified. In Jesus most precious name I pray, Amen.
